MATERIAL GUIDE FOR SPATIO-TEMPORAL PHYSICALIZATION

Presentation

This tool aims to promote and democratize the practice of physicalization in the context of workshops involving spatio-temporal data. We offer a low-tech approach, accessible to all levels of expertise, in order to facilitate the application of physicalization, in the context of research laboratories in particular. The objective of our classification of materials is to do physicalization on the go, that is to say quickly, so we are not talking here about physicalization as an end goal, but as a tool.

Guide

This guide is a tool, where materials are classified according to the variables they can express. Their type, as well as the value which they allow to express, is indicated there thanks to the colors and the associated logos.

The following table tells us which material is more advisable for expressing a certain type of variable.
