MEPP2 Project
CMDM Filter

Description

This filter implements the CMDM perceptual metric from (Nehmé et al. 2021).
CMDM is the first metric for quality assessment of 3D meshes with diffuse colors, which works entirely on the mesh domain, at vertex level.
It is a full-reference data-driven multiscale metric, that incorporates perceptually-relevant curvature-based and color-based features.
It computes a quality score that predicts the perceived distortion between two colored meshes, as well as a per-vertex distortion map.

Parameters

Parameter Description
Mode The direction of the comparison. One of: Symmetric, 1_to_2, 2_to_1.
Scales Number of scales. One of: 1, 2, 3.
Color map Fill the mesh vertex-color map with CMDM values.

Supported data structures

Only one data structure is supported: CGAL Surface_mesh.

Restrictions

Two meshes must be opened; they both have to be triangular and manifold. They have also to contain vertex colors.
