A freeware compression and interactive visualization tool for huge 3D meshes, by Clément Jamin and Pierre-Marie Gandoin
CHuMI Viewer is a software I developed during my PhD at the LIRIS lab. Its implements the algorithm detailed in this paper
. It introduces a new compression file format for 3D triangular meshes: CHV. The software supports:
- Encoding from triangle-based VRML, OFF, PLY to CHV.
- Interactive visualization from CHV (on-the-fly decoding).
For now, it DOES NOT support decoding from CHV to another file format.
